Nature-hearted couple Boy and Gigi Vinzon did not leave it to dreaming and awoke to make their fantasy a reality. They were bent on making a difference by building the Cocoon Boutique Hotel, an environment-conscious establishment whose mission is to be the Philippines’ first deluxe boutique hotel that is truly green and where luxury is meted in a responsible way.

A few of the many reasons Cocoon Boutique Hotel is environmentally friendly is because it uses rain and ground water for toilet flushing, plant irrigation and general house cleaning. It uses the dual piping system for separate grey and potable water. It uses water saving fixtures like faucets with aerators, and siphonic jet toilet flushing. It uses reclaimed wood and other renewable building materials. It even uses energy efficient lighting fixtures and appliances like LED light, inverter type air-conditioners, thermoelectric minibar refs and many others.

Cocoon Boutique Hotel is proud to offer the highest standards of comfort and amenity with the least impact on earth and her delicate eco-system, yet it does not compromise in its delivery of comfort and luxury. It is just as committed to the environment as it is to providing hotel amenities that is anything but the best.

Every detail is generously thought out, including the hotel's emblem, which is depicted by a flower plant that signifies the symbol of life. The flower represents energy radiating from the sun, the leaves imitating the looks of a free-flowing water, and the whole emblem representing us as humans with our head standing tall as we can and with the leaves as our arms stretched wide open, being one with nature. This emblem was designed with simplicity yet springs out with so much meaning, reminding us of the need to consciously help care for the environment.

From the inside of Cocoon Boutique Hotel, the hotel makes one feel enveloped naturally in warmth and solitude just like a cocoon is to a caterpillar. It is a modern nesting place one should experience especially since one can take pleasure in the deluxe in-room amenities like having high-speed internet access inside the hotel bedroom, enjoying 100 percent Egyptian cotton bed linen and towel sets, open bathroom set-up with speakers for TV viewing convenience in most rooms and many more. It is here that nature and technology coincides together like a match made in heaven.

From the outside, this hotel's plant green hue stand out and just a few steps away are vibrant diversities of possibilities like dining out in restaurants, singing along at music bars. The Cocoon is literally a stone's throw away from Timog Avenue and only two blocks away from Tomas Morato Avenue.

Originally, it seemed to me that it was the Vinzon couple, who were the only ones making a change through the Cocoon Boutique Hotel, but a closer look reveals that they had a bigger picture in mind. Through this establishment, they found a way to influence the community around the hotel to make a difference as well.

Unwittingly, every guest at the Cocoon makes a positive contribution to the city as they avail of the nature-friendly amenities and operations of the hotel.

The Cocoon Boutique Hotel is also all-Filipino owned and showcases Filipino ingenuity and design. Cocoon Boutique Hotel is currently offering up to 40 percent discount off their room rates.

Cocoon Boutique Hotel is located at 61 Scout Tobias corner Scout Rallos, Laging Handa, 1103 Quezon City, Philippines.
