The judges for the night were Viva Music Group’s Executive Vice President MG Mozo and A&R manager Civ Fontanilla; singer-songwriters Mark Bautista and Thyro Alfaro; Greenwich’s general manager Albert Cuadrante and marketing director Pamela Reyes; and JB Music owner Jericho Fernando.

The final Greenwich showdown competition and the awarding ceremony were met by a cheering crowd, who were on their toes to hear who the victors are.

Determined by most online votes through the #UltimateBandkada Web site, in third place was Papapeta, receiving P40,000; and second place, Offlane Pitch, taking home P60,000. Saving the best for the last, the cash prize of P100,000, a one-year music contract with Viva Records and a management contract with Viva Artist Agency was awarded to the first ever Greenwich #UltimateBandkada title winner: B-Boys.

The Greenwich hunt for the best young musicians began last March. The audition called for musicians to create mashups of popular genres today. Eight aspiring bands were found: SYVA, Sweet December, Papapeta, Offlane Pitch, Hiyas, Invisible Drums, B-Boys, and Adonai. They were invited to undergo an exclusive 10-week Bandkada session under the mentorship of producer and EDM artist Kio Priest, singer-songwriter Pow Chavez, founders of Musikaramay and Rock Band, Climax and Viva Records’ top honchos, executive vice president MG Mozo and A&R manger, Civ Fontanilla.

While performances were made on stage, Greenwich served pizza and pasta to guests, accompanied with iced tea. It was the first time I tried their latest ChocoBanana Crisp, a dessert pizza with sliced bananas, chocolate sprinkles and chocolate spread made with Nutella. Before long, everyone wiped out everything. Greenwich definitely knows the way to one’s heart which is through the stomach.

The night was capped by live performances by Thyro Alfaro, Yumi Lacsamana, Jeric Medina, Climax, DJ DCFER and Mark Bautista.
